Snowy Days & Cosy Cable Knits

I know, I know at the start of Spring we should be stocking our wardrobe with lighter, floral pieces ready for the delightful transition into our long awaited Summer months.

But instead here we are surrounded by snow! That pretty glittering white stuff that makes everything so cold but so, so beautiful!

We decided to brave the cold and try to enjoy this picturesque weather before it becomes long forgotten and we don’t see another flake for a year or two!

I kept my baby bump warm with four layers including this cosy cable knit jumper, one of my absolute favourite cold weather wardrobe staples. And kept my tootsie’s warm with two pairs of socks and my new super warm bargain booties!

I got them in the sale at Primark last week for a fiver! They’re Timberland style, which is not a style I’ve ever been a big fan of but for £5 I thought I’d give them a go and have absolutely fallen in love with them, best buy of the year so far!

When Amelie first saw snow last year it made her cry! She really didn’t like it at all, but this year she absolutely adores it and wants to be outside playing all the time which I love.

It was such a heart warming moment hearing her say “I just can’t believe it, there’s snow Mummy and Daddy, Wook” before jumping up and down with excitement!

I feel like I’ll remember these snowy February days for a long time yet, mostly for the wonderful moments that will become Amelie’s fond childhood memories but also for the cabin fever I feel like we’re now starting to get from not attending our normal playgroups. This I’m not so fond of, but alas I’m sure (I hope) the warmer, spring like weather will be back to greet us next week.
