Amelie’s Soft Pink and Gold Toddler Bedroom

Amelie’s bedroom has to be my favourite room in our home. When we chose the theme for her room we went for girly, magical, a room full of pretty colours and accessories.

We wanted it to be a space that she could grow into and so rather than opting for the classic nursery decor that you would typically find in a then 7 month old baby’s room, we chose a statement wall and paired it with soft shades of pastel pinks.

You can read about this room’s amazing transformation here, you would hardly recognise it from when we first moved in!

We knew that when the time came to move Amelie into her “big girl bed” we wouldn’t have to make too many changes to her room. I set about my search to find an elegant toddler bed that would stand the test of time and still compliment her room’s decor.

I have to say it took a few evenings of searching until I found The Amelia range from Next. Fitting in perfectly with the rest of Amelie’s white furniture, what really sold me was it’s super large storage draws complete with princess style crystal handles!

Once the bed was in it’s prime position we set about doing a little Feng shui to make the best out of the space.

Upgrading the changing table to a chest of drawers allowed us to change the lay out of the room and create a reading corner for Amelie to snuggle up in and get lots in her imagination with a good book or two.

It also meant we now had more space to store Amelie’s ever growing wardrobe! Placing the matching wardrobe next to the chest of drawers created a practical, classic storage system. I jazzed it up with a string of rose lights, baskets to store her hair bands in, a beautiful personalised print from @dracottcreations as well as other pretty accessories.

Whilst we’re talking storage I have to mention how handy Amelie’s storage sack from @littlecrafthutt is. I’m a true believer in the mantra that “everything has a home” and if it doesn’t find one! This has to be the perfect home for Amelie’s massive collection of soft toys.

It’s so easy to tidy everything away into at the end of the day and just as easy to get everything back out again for a full day of play. I also love that it matches Amelie’s gold heart statement wall, but you can also find it in a whole range of different beautiful designs here too.

Just a few simple furniture moves and accessories can make all the difference when updating a space.

I’m so happy with her “Big Girl Room” and so glad Amelie is too. Absolutely everyone who comes to our home simply has to see it. She ushers them into her little pretty pink room with such pride, my heart could almost burst!

I often get lots of messages and comments on my Instagram account @life.simply.styled about where everything is from in Amelie’s room, so I thought I’d make it super easy to shop and have linked everything I usually get asked about below:

The Bed

Toy Sack

Personalised Unicorn Cushion

Star Cushion

Bunny Doll

Gold Heart Decals

Personalised Rainbow Name Plaque

Heart rug from Laura Ashley but is now unfortunately discontinued, similar rug here

Pink Honeycomb Pom Poms were from Ikea but again discontinued, find similar here

Ballet Paint wall colour

Pink Heart Bean Bag

Wooden Pram

Pink Gingham Bedding

And I think that’s it, do let me know if you’d like to know where I sourced anything else from.

Wishing you a wonderful week.

Love,

Hi, love this room! The bed link does not seem to be working for me. Are you able to give me the info so I can search for it on my own? Thank you!
