Having my babies are by far my life’s biggest achievements. I am honestly astounded by how incredible the female body is, how it makes it’s transformation to grow, home and then nurture another life is nothing short of a miracle!
After Amelie’s birth, my thyroid took a turn for the worst and I developed Graves Disease. One of the many side effects of having an overactive thyroid function is weight loss. I experienced losing a large amount of weight extremely quickly and so I soon found that my baby bump had vanished and my body other than my thyroid was back to normal in no time at all.
With my second pregnancy, everything seemed to stretch that little bit further, a little quicker than I would have liked! Everyone kept telling me that I was going to have a really large baby as my bump was so big, I measured two weeks ahead all throughout my pregnancy!
But when Morgan arrived weighing in at a beautifully healthy but not so large 7.5 lbs I quickly realised that she was never going to be a “big baby” but that I just had a big belly bump!
Well, this was all the motivation I needed to start getting myself and my body back on track. I’d tried many diets before and granted I lost the weight but I never really enjoyed them as such or had the encouragement I needed to keep on going with them.
