Morgan Rose’s Special Day

I can’t believe it’s September and I’m only getting round to sharing Morgan’s christening with you now, how fast is time flying?!

Many of you who have followed along with our journey for a little while will know that back in 2016 my life was completely transformed when I found my faith in God.

Since the day I was totally saved by his grace I have dedicated my life to serving him, studying the word and sharing my testimony to absolutely anyone who will listen.

On my confirmation day back in February 2017 something incredible happened. I found myself feeling safe. Absolutely every fearful, anxious thought instantly left my mind, I felt as if I was being wrapped in a warm quilt made of pure love. I knew it was where I was meant to be, it was God showing me that he will never let me go,

Psalm 139:11-12

When you begin to walk with Jesus, His promise is that He’ll never loose any of those that He’s saved. He’ll never let go of your hand.

And this is exactly what we want both our girls to know. Love their lives realising that we are the lucky ones, who understand that there is no limit to his love for us all!

We decided to get Amelie christened in our church, it’s where we got married and where I was confirmed so it only seemed fitting to get our little Miss Morgan christened their too.

You can read all about Amelie’s special day here.

We chose summer for Morgan’s christening as the venue for her celebration was a local pub with a lovely little garden and park for the children to play in.

The service was led by our Curate Ilse who’s sermon was so spot on to so many situations in our lives I can confidently say that it one way or another our family members, believers and non believers could relate.

We chose my youngest sister, one of my best friends and our mutual friend as Morgan’s God Mothers and Scott’s best friend for her God Father.

After the service it was time for photos. Our favourite photo from our wedding day is of Scott and I holding hands in the church with the stunning stain glass window behind us. We asked our photographer to capture the same photo with ourselves and Amelie on her Christening day and it was so beautiful that we wanted to have the same picture taken again but this time as a family of four.

These photos hold such a special place in my heart as they symbolise to me that I never need to worry, I should always trust his plan.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”

Then we all headed back for a beautiful buffet in the best company.

We had a craft table for the kids and hired out a little section outside of the room for our family to have a good old catch up.

It really was the most gorgeous weather and the most perfect day for Morgan. Scott and I always say how on occasions like this you really get to see all of God’s blessings to you.

This life and our family is such a gift, one that we’re always thankful for.
