Christmas- It’s A Family Affair

Dressing up on Christmas Day, it’s a family tradition in our household like many others.

I absolutely love getting the girls Christmas Day outfits out on Christmas Eve feeling so excited about all of the magical memories we’ll make the very next day.

I begin choosing our outfits a few weeks before Christmas Day, it gives me so much joy creating our looks. Our absolute favourite family store is Matalan, this Christmas they really have it all.

I picked up a few new Christmas decorations from there and some gorgeous bits for the girls stocking but my most amazing finds to date where these incredibly festive matching red dresses.

The top half of the dress is made up the most sumptuous velvety material which is so pretty and the bottom half boats a real full tutu style skirt- amazing for any little Christmas fairy.

Amelie squealed with joy when I presented the dress to her and Morgan insisted she tried it on then and there. They spent the afternoon in their new dresses playing Christmas’s! It’s Amelie’s favourite game right now.

I also couldn’t resist adding in these dainty gold shoes, they compliment the gold star detail on the skirt so beautifully.

Once the girls are sorted I then fit our outfits around their theme. So this year it was the colour red and stars.

I noticed a gorgeous burgundy shirt in the men’s department which I knew Scott would look fab in. I’m a real fan of teaming colours together but don’t get me wrong I’m not so keen on us all having the same outfits consisting of identical colours so this shade of red was just what I’d been looking for.

I tend to leave myself to last, I guess by doing this it gives me more time to really envision how I want to look and feel. We all like to look put together but we have to be comfy too, especially after a wonderful Christmas dinner.

I opted for a black long sleeved star print shirt dress as I like the idea of matching with the stars on the girls dresses. I also really like the material of this dress. It’s so light and floaty making it a dream to wear.

I did however feel like something was missing to make this a real stand out dress for me, so I added the most stunning statement in the form of a belt! The chunky pearl detail belt clinched in my waist and gave the outfit the wow factor!

I teamed my dress with a killer pair of black pointed boots and a gold metallic mock crock clutch, I absolutely love this look.

I’m over the moon with all of our Christmas Day looks and cannot wait to wear them on Christmas Day!

Happy Christmas from my family to yours!
